Javier Zapata Ferrer
He began his professional career in 1990, working in the Tax Law departments of firms such as Iberforo, Landwell (Coopers & Lybrand and later PwC), Bufete Barrilero and Rivero & Gustafson.
Except for a few years when he focused his career in Tax Law on the family business sector, business succession planning and the creation of efficient tax structures for the direct personal taxation of business owners residing in Spain, his career has been that of a general practice lawyer working in the tax field.

His extensive and wide-ranging experience allows him to provide reliable and sound tax advice to both individuals and legal entities. However, he specialises in business tax planning, conflicts within family businesses, business succession planning, international taxation and defending clients in inspection procedures and before administrative courts and courts of justice.
An alumnus of the Comillas Pontifical University – ICADE, he is a lawyer and holds a Degree in Economic and Business Sciences.
Teaching, publications, lectures
He has been a speaker at a number of conferences and has worked as a professor in master’s degrees in tax affairs organised by the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM).
