He has been a member of the Legal Department of Universidad de Valladolid (1991-1998), has worked as a lawyer in renowned national law firms (1999-2003), and his last stage at the Litigation Department of Clifford Chance in the Madrid office (2003-2009).
As a litigation lawyer, he has been involved in the legal defence and management of important matters in a wide range of sectors (telecommunications, private equity, banking, insurance, M&A transactions, transport, distribution, automotive, construction, hospitality, etc.).
He has extensive experience in all types of claims arising from breach of contract, termination and rescission of contracts, unfair competition, agency and distribution agreements, as well as in proceedings for the enforcement in Spain of foreign court and arbitration decisions.

He is a member of the Madrid Bar Association, and a corresponding member of the Royal Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation.
The Cidian blood that runs through his veins makes Roberto a thoroughbred litigator, who combines a high technical level, which is also the result of his teaching experience, with his passion for litigation. When he goes to court, he doesn’t just go through the motions, he puts on his war paint.
His time at Clifford Chance and his liaison with international clients has enabled him to handle very different scenarios with ease, and to intervene before all types of courts and tribunals.
He was educated at Universidad de Valladolid, where he obtained his PhD degree after studying at Universitá di Giurisprudenza di Bologna and the Max-Planck-Institute in Freiburg.

Lecturer on the Master’s Degree for Admission to the Practice of Law at Universidad Pontificia Comillas-ICADE since 2016.

He has been a collaborating lecturer at Universidad Pontificia de Comillas-ICADE, at the Aliter International Business School, at the Instituto de Estudios Superiores de la Fundación Universitaria San Pablo-CEU, and at the Instituto Superior de Estudios de Seguridad de la Comunidad de Madrid.
He has several publications including his collaboration in the following collective works: “Aspectos Jurídicos del Metaverso“, Madrid, 2022; “Análisis del Régimen General de la Competencia Desleal y la Publicidad, llevada a cabo por la Ley 29/2009, de 30 de diciembre“, Madrid, 2011; “Introducción a la Nueva Ley de Enjuiciamiento Civil” Barcelona, 2001. His doctoral thesis “Policía Judicial y Constitución“, was co-published by Aranzadi and the Ministry of the Interior, Madrid, 2001.
He has taken part as a speaker on various legal subjects, both in Spain and in Italy.
