Experience

Practising lawyer since 1998, Associate Professor of Corporate and Commercial Law at Universidad Complutense de Madrid since 2003.

Founding partner of Gallego Larrubia Abogados and partner of Laffer Abogados. Formerly a lawyer at the international law firms Clifford Chance and Cremades & Calvo-Sotelo. Founding partner of the Spanish Association of Minority Shareholders of Listed Companies (AEMEC).

Specialised in corporate transactions and restructurings, M&A, divestment processes, resolution of corporate conflicts and shareholders’ agreements, civil and commercial contracts, transformations of sports clubs into sports limited companies, insolvency proceedings, insolvencies and pre-insolvency advice.

He is an arbitrator in the Court of Arbitration of the Madrid Bar Association.

He is a member of the Madrid Bar Association and a corresponding member of the Spanish Royal Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation.

His experience in international law firms, and his experience as a founding partner of his own firm, has enabled him to intervene in professional matters of great complexity and scope.

He graduated from Universidad Complutense de Madrid with the Extraordinary Degree Award (1998). He obtained the Proven Research Certificate in the Doctorate Programme “Estudios de Derecho Mercantil“, with the highest qualification, from the Department of Corporate and Commercial Law of the Faculty of Law, and the degree of European Doctor in Law from the University of Bologna.

Lecturer at the Instituto de Empresa and IFAES, and participant in specialised national and international congresses, he has spoken as a specialist in corporate and commercial law in various media and is the author of various publications specialising in different areas of corporate and commercial law, insolvency law and sports law (prohibition of competition of company directors, indirect transfers of company shares, division of company assets in companies in liquidation, distribution of profits during the liquidation phase, sports limited companies, conflicts within family companies, acquisition of assets in insolvency proceedings, right of exit of members of sports clubs, etc.).
