Jorge Bravo Benites
A practising lawyer with more than 40 years of professional experience, he previously worked at the Central Reserve Bank of Peru, where he held various positions such as Vice President of Legal Management and personal legal advisor in matters related to public procurement and selection processes. His involvement ranged from preparing the bidding rules and answering enquiries and commentaries to making the final award decision. Jorge also formed part of the selection committees for international tenders convened by said organisation for the procurement of bank notes.
In addition to the aforementioned experience, he acted as a representative of the Central Bank at the Central Anti-Counterfeiting Office of Peru (OCN), responsible for fighting the counterfeiting of banknotes and coins, and was a member of its board of directors on two occasions. He also handled the legal defence of the Central Reserve Bank in different civil, labour and arbitration proceedings that were undertaken in pursuit of the interests of the institution.
Jorge is a lawyer specialising in issues related to tenders and public contracts in Peru, a field in which he has worked for the past 40 years. This means that his experience in relation to public procurement includes not only the identification of requirements for the acquisition of goods and services, but also knowledge of the whole public procurement process and its consequences.
